Many people inside and outside the church are drooling and dreaming of the milk and honey of church relevance.

This book expresses concern about church life, but is also filled with hope. It shows that it is the essentiality of the altar that alters the flow of local churches and faith systems. We are seeing the adverse impact of substituting methods in place of the message. Research and pastoral experience bear out that there is no "gadget" that transforms us into a healthy, life-giving expression of the body of Christ.
