Bearing Witness to the Truth by David Lin

David Lin was born in 1917, the second son of a Chinese diplomat. At age two he was dedicated by his godly mother to be a preacher. He received his theological training in a Seventh-day Adventist school in China from 1935 to 1937, and in the United States from 1937 to 1942. He returned to China in 1946, where he served as the last secretary of the China Division of Seventh-day Adventists in 1950-51, after which organized leadership of the Division gave way to scattered self-supporting work due to political change. During this time, he became one of the translators of the Conflict of the Ages series of books.

In 1958 he was arrested and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment as a counter-revolutionary. He was finally exonerated by the Chinese government in 1991.

Elder Lin's lifetime of service for the Lord includes radio ministry, Spirit of Prophecy translator, Bible correspondence school director, church planter, pastor, and writer. He finally retired from active duty in China in 1997 at the age of 80.

David Lin now lives with his wife Clara and daughter Angelina in California, where he continues to serve the Lord through his writing, and as director of Chinese Ministries International.
